OUR STORY
When our daughter, Emilie, was in kindergarten, she begged us to get her a pig for her birthday. She just wanted her own bacon she told us. After lots of begging and persuading, we finally gave in and got her a pig to raise. That one pig in an old dog kennel lead us into a few more and then a few more and to where we are now.
The beef cows came about when our youngest son decided that he didn't like pigs, he wanted cows.
Somewhere in the mix we added alpacas and honeybees. So....here we are...

The Story Behind the Name
The Battle Row one room school house is located at the intersection of Buckwalter and Mitchell Roads. Battle Row School was built in 1874 and closed in 1952. This school was named due to the bickering of miner's wives, who did laundry in Spring Run located near the school. The one room school house is now the location of Richardson Tree & Landscape Co, Inc.
